A lost chargeback costs the order value plus the dispute fee. On-chain crypto payments cannot be charged back.

What the calculator counts

Card processors and PayPal charge a percentage plus a fixed fee on every order, so small orders pay a much higher effective rate. On top of that, each lost chargeback costs you the order value (the goods are already delivered) and a dispute fee. A crypto payment gateway charges a percentage only, and a confirmed blockchain payment cannot be reversed by the payer — refunds stay your decision.

When crypto is (and is not) cheaper

The gap is largest for digital goods, low order values and businesses with frequent disputes. If your customers rarely pay with crypto, card payments stay necessary — many stores offer both. Frequently asked questions

Are the default rates accurate for me?
They are common public list prices. Your contract may differ, so open “Edit fee assumptions” and enter your own rates.
Who pays the blockchain network fee?
With most gateways the customer pays the network fee when sending the payment; the merchant pays the gateway commission.
Can a customer reverse a crypto payment?
No. Once confirmed on the blockchain, the payment cannot be charged back. You can still issue refunds yourself.
